DISCOVER THE BEAUTY AND HISTORY OF OUR CEMETERY

WELCOME TO MERCER CEMETERY AT TRENTON

Founded in 1843, Mercer Cemetery is New Jersey’s first non-sectarian burial ground and a cornerstone of Trenton’s heritage. It is the final resting place for the titans, veterans, and citizens who built our capital city.

More than a cemetery, Mercer is an open-air gallery and urban sanctuary. We invite you to step through our historic gates to discover the Victorian art, living history, and quiet majesty that set this landmark apart.

The Cemetery is open Monday - Friday 12:00 - 3:00 and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 - 5:00
from now until mid-November
